nonhoration asked: I am a museum student. In one of my classes we discussed whether or not people should wear actual period clothing during historical re-enactments and the take-away was probably not but if you do you really *have* to wear period underwear because historical clothing was designed for a completely different body shape. Like, for her outside clothes to look like that and not stretch and tear everywhere, Rosalind has to be wearing historical undergarments to get the correct body shape.

Yeppers! Something that fits closely while you’re in a corset couldn’t even be closed or would shred without the corset. Hulk-style.
